Refund Policy
Last updated: 31 August 2026
This page is maintained by Vanguard Computers to explain when and how you can cancel or return an order. It reflects our current refund practices and does not override any statutory rights you may have.
1. Cooling-off period
For most products bought online from Vanguard Computers, you have 14 days from the day you receive your goods to cancel your order for a refund. This is your statutory cooling-off right under UK consumer law. You do not need to give a reason, but you may be asked for feedback so we can improve.
2. Custom-built PCs
Custom PCs are assembled to your specification from components you choose. Because they are made to order, you may lose the right to cancel once production has started. If you cancel before production begins, you can receive a full refund. If production has already started, we may only be able to refund the value of components that have not yet been used or modified, minus any non-recoverable costs.
3. How to request a refund or cancellation
To cancel an order or request a refund, email us at customer.support@vanguard-computers.co.uk with your order number and reason for return. If you are signed in, you can also request a refund from your account order history where the option is available.
4. Returning goods
Returned goods must be in their original condition, complete with all accessories, manuals, and packaging. You are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the item is faulty or not as described. We recommend using a tracked service and retaining proof of postage, as you are responsible for the goods until they reach us.
5. Refund processing
Once we receive and inspect the returned goods, we will process your refund within 14 days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout. If you paid by card, the time it takes for the money to appear in your account depends on your bank or card issuer.
6. Faulty or damaged items
If your PC or component arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us as soon as possible. Faulty goods are handled under our warranty and consumer law rights, which may include a repair, replacement, or full refund. Do not attempt to repair a faulty item yourself, as this may affect your warranty cover.
7. Non-refundable items
Gift cards, digital downloads, and any software that has been activated or opened are generally non-refundable. Services that have already been fully performed, such as completed custom assembly after the cooling-off period, may also be non-refundable.
8. Contact us
